The Laboratory of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry (FyKe) is the only research unit in Finland specialising in electrochemistry. Our research activities are intended to build on the fundamental knowledge held by our senior researchers, to enlarge this through basic research in the above fields and to apply this knowledge for the solution of problems of technological interest.
Research at the laboratory is naturally connected to postgraduate education. Almost all postgraduates in physical chemistry work full time in the laboratory during their studies. This ensures close supervision and effective interaction between senior researchers and postgraduates at different stages of their work. The main research topics are:
